Our intentions are powerful, and speaking them helps us learn how to feel worthy of them when they come, especially if we are people who come from backgrounds of class, gender, race, ability, age, size, etc… that has eroded our abilities to feel worthy of what we want.
I say affirmations every single day and I also do a New Moon womanifesting ritual I got from Katie at Empowering Astrology. Shifting our thoughts is incredibly powerful.
Ritual to help get energy unstuck. (And bonus photo of me at 19 wearing short denim overalls.) New Blog Post: Blue Bottle Ritual With Spunky

The Harvest Moon is tonight! The Harvest Moon is the one closest to the Autumnal Equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere.
It’s also full moon in Aries! Which lots of the online astrologers are saying is special because it is square with Uranus and Pluto in Capricorn. Here’s what Molly Hall says (as quoted here),
“The universe supports you in surprising ways. Be clear with your intent, and open to superfast progress. Aries is about now and this Full Moon is about emerging into being here now… If you focus attention on what you’re creating, the results can amaze you. That’s why it’s critical, too, to beam on what you want to bring in.”
There are a lot of great full moon rituals you can do to release things that are holding you back. And since Aries is the firey fire sign try burning a list of things that are holding you back from your greatness and letting them go. This ritual is really great.
“burn the scroll - burn the cloak.
an act of creation, not destruction
an act of love, not regret…”
“Think of areas of your life that you would like to STABILIZE. Perhaps you want to save more money. Move into a permanent home. Settle down with a partner. Find a career, instead of just a “job.”
Head to a local nursery, or any place that sells plants, and purchase a vegetable, flower, houseplant, that represents the stability that you wish to create. Buy one or buy a dozen, it’s up to you. (Just make sure to buy plants and NOT SEEDS. According to my farming family, the Full Moon is not a good time to plant seeds.)” [Read through the rest of the link for the rest of the ritual.]
“Ritualizing release is a way to “bind the medicine” of moving beyond the past, the pain, the obstacles, the resistance, the old traps, the excuses.”
Vegan Femme sent me this amazing blog post/video with a solstice ritual. I am thinking about the loss that has happened in my family and communities and how much transition happened in 2011, how many people I know who are new widows this year. Solstice is 12:30am on Thursday (Wed night, functionally) and I would very much like to honor it in a releasing ceremony. Now who to involve?
ZOE, my Consigliere and BFF: dude, i have 100% faith in my salt/burning ritual to change things on a more immaterial level when efforts to change things at the material level seem frustrated. do you remember that ritual from the great breakup of 07?
ME: I don’t tell me more
