Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamson
it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the...

Broken Open Poem from Pariah
This is from the film Pariah which you should go see. Theater list on the website here. PARIAH Heartbreak opens onto the sunrise For even breaking is opening And I am broken I am open See the love shine in through my cracks See the light shine out from me My spirit takes journey My spirit takes flight And I am not running I am choosing I am broken I am broken open Breaking is...

You know what goes well with a freshly somewhat cleaned house? Smell of baking cookies. Heather and I agreed today that we often blow our wad on New Year’s Eve Eve and then it makes the marathon of NYE really difficult. Tonight I decided I’d rather continue my cleaning up/cleaning out for the New Year project. I will have a tasty cookie and then I will have a glass of wine and a...

Scenes from Queer Jew Hannukah
I am the gay witch dreidel champion. I ate about 2 fewer latkes than I would have preferred. (Jenna claimed one could eat 20 in a night, no problem. I only had about 4 or 5.) I am curious about norms around latke creation and consumption. It is a little treyf but I feel some ham would do well in a latke. I learned a lot of new hebrew words, including an entire prayer. We created an on the...

I dream of a place between your breasts to build my house like a haven where I plant crops in your body an endless harvest where the commonest rock is moonstone and ebony opal giving milk to all of my hungers and your night comes down upon me like a nurturing rain. (1997)

The white beans were worth the wait. I cooked them for 2 more hours then made chili. They are perfectly tender almost mushy now. Vegan christmas meal is made! (We have a vegan side-menu for dinner, as we have a vegan joining us. Green chili with red pepper garnish.)

How long are these white beans going to take to...
I soaked them overnight. I was very drunk from my birthday and remembered, which is the first gaywitchmas miracle. Now I have been simmering/boiling them for about an hour. I am going to Brian’s at 3 and chili needs to be done by them. I’ve never worked from dry beans before. This is stressful. I read the entire page on this yahoo ask.
